Update #2 – Wednesday Matches Cancelled

Following our ongoing monitoring of Cyclone Alfred and its expected impact, we have made the decision to cancel all Wednesday Adult Social matches. From this point forward, the BMTA Office and Fields will be closed until Monday. 

​

In making this decision, BMTA has consulted with Brisbane City Council and carefully considered the latest weather advice. With conditions now beginning to affect our region, we do not believe it is in the best interests of our members’ safety to ask them to travel to and from our venue. The potential risks posed by worsening conditions mean that proceeding with matches would not be responsible.

This decision has not been made lightly. However, given the forecasted severity of Cyclone Alfred and the uncertainty surrounding its impact, we feel it is the right choice to allow members to remain home and focus on preparing for the weather ahead. Safety remains our top priority, and we appreciate your understanding during this time.

A further update regarding next week’s matches will be provided on Monday, pending field conditions. The BMTA office will be closed from today and staff will work from here where possible and safe to do so, we kindly ask that members avoid contacting our team where possible. This will allow our team to work together to provide public updates as early as possible, rather than responding to individual queries.
